Prank posts running hot

By GEORGIA WESTGARTH

APRIL foolishness has hit the City of Casey, and it heated up on Facebook.
A message which fooled some has been posted around Casey social pages today, congratulating the council “on responding once again to Community concerns”.
The script posted numerous times read:
“Just got an email from Casey Council letting me know that due to popular request, all Casey public pools will have 3 lanes of water at 30C for those who prefer a warmer environment.
The temperature in the other lanes will remain unchanged. Congratulations Casey Council on responding once again to Community concerns….”
But the message ringing loud and clear from the council chambers is … we got pranked.
Councillor Damien Rosario got on board commenting, “Yup. We do a lot of planning to ensure that we have a warm lane for you guys. Don’t say we don’t give you anything.”
The funny prank started a surge of comments about the warm up online, one resident said: “Will they be cooler at the ends so you can ease your way in to the warm area?”
