School’s good grounding

The school received the maximum amount of funding as part of the Federal Government’s National School Pride program, announced earlier this month.
Assistant principal Jeff Mead said the school would use the money to build new playgrounds and install shade sails and blinds.
“We are delighted to have been allocated $200,000 under the National School Pride program,” Mr Mead said.
“Improving our outdoor facilities will have far-reaching benefits for our children and the school community for many years to come.”
Mr Mead said work on the playgrounds and shade sails would start soon.
He said the school community had been fortunate to receive funding for build-ing redevelopments in the past few years, which included a new hall, an eight-classroom wing and refurbished music centre and staff and office area.
“The buildings look great and this funding will take that a step further and be able to develop our grounds.”
