Into the corridors of power

SECONDARY school students from across Casey have been specially selected by the Mayor of Casey to delve deeper into the world of State and Federal politics.
The three stage study tour lets the Casey year 11 students ease into Australian politics with an introductory dinner at the City of Casey before getting thrown in the deep end at the state level and meeting state members of parliament.
Chosen for their interest in politics and law, the 10 teenagers will also get to grasp what it’s like to help make decisions on behalf of the Australian people in Canberra.
The four day trip to Canberra includes a day at Parliament House, meeting with Federal MPs, visits to the High Court and the National Gallery.
Participants were awarded the honour of attending the tour at the City of Casey Australia Day awards ceremony.
Award recipients include Abdul Mohammed, Anagha Ramachandra, Georgia Coward-Smith, Gul Dasta Ali, Joshua Hoxha, Lachlan Iape, Pooja Jeyadeva, Shakila Husaini, Zachary Vogrig and Zoja Kovacs.
