AS A humble citizen I wish to extend my congratulations to Colin Booth and all local CFA firefighters (On A Firey Path, News, 28 January).
It’s refreshing to see accolades being given to fair dinkum people serving our community rather than the usual doling out of awards to already highly decorated and renumerated actors, sportspeople and alike.
I think Victorians need to do more to honour those who serve and volunteer – perhaps we should have a day to celebrate them rather than celebrating labour, Queen’s birthdays or Grand Final eve.
Let’s find more ways to say thanks to people like Colin and our firefighters.
Ashley Lodder,
Berwick.
Day of dedication
