MONSTER Trucks Australia predicts its show in Cranbourne on Easter Sunday will attract 10,000 people during a night of “total destruction”.
Nine monster trucks weighing 5000 kilograms each and a monster motorbike will smash and crush their way into Cranbourne for Monster Trucks Australia’s annual show at the Cranbourne Racecourse.
Rod Britton from Monster Trucks Australia said the shows were a night out for the whole family.
“The kids love it. The destruction of cars sounds really brutal, but every little boy and girl tends to love it,” Mr Britton said.
“The cars we use are heading towards the wreckers and they end up about two feet high when we finish with them.” Audiences can expect to see car jumping and crunching, the crane car drop, a demolition derby and “car melting” van powered by a military jet engine.
“As it is a military jet engine, it comes complete with after-burners that shoot out a gigantic 20 metre-long flame from the jet’s engine.
“The extreme heat from the after burner can melt a car to pure destruction within thirty seconds.”
The monster motorbike weighs about 10 times that of a normal family car and is almost nine metres long and three metres tall.
The show will be held at the Cranbourne Racecourse on 12 April.
