EQUESTRIAN activities may be implemented locally pending the Cranbourne Turf Club’s relocation.
CEO Neil Bainbridge said if the club relocated from the current track to the nearby training centre, following Racing Victoria’s 2020 blueprint, the land that became available would be useful for equestrian activities.
“We have been in discussion with and support the City of Casey motion to create an equestrian site with world-class standards in Cranbourne, should land become available,” he said.
Mr Bainbridge said the potential site would attract participation from not only Casey, but from all over the state.
“It would be a great fit for the whole thoroughbred precinct in the area and would provide a fantastic boost for the economy,” he said. “People would come from far regions to participate or watch major events.”
