A MUCH needed road linking Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road to the South Gippsland Highway is in planning at the City of Casey.
The planning will deliver a detailed overview of an extension to the missing part of Glasscocks Road.
At a recent council meeting, councillor Louise Berkelmans said the new east-west connection was hoped to be finished in the next three to five years, subject to funding.
“Development between Narre Warren and Cranbourne is rapidly reaching full build out,” Cr Berkelmans said.
“The lack of connectivity of the planned east-west arterial route along the Glasscocks Road corridor is having significant implications for the overall transport network.”
Mayor Sam Aziz said the council had taken the first steps in delivering a vital part of Casey’s transport network.
“The project plan has identified that the section of Glasscocks Road between South Gippsland Highway and Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road provides the greatest delivery certainty and should be prioritised for delivery within the next three to five years,” he said.
