UPGRADES to the last section of Sladen Street in Cranbourne have started.
Five hundred metres of the road between Codrington Street and Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road will be improved as part of the $10.1 million project.
The upgrade will see the creation of two traffic lanes and a bicycle lane in each direction, parking lanes and left turning lanes and a signalised pedestrian crossing east of Codrington Street.
Works to improve drainage and lighting will also be undertaken as well as the planting of trees in the centre median and in the northern nature strip.
Bus stops will be relocated and the roundabout at Cameron Street will have two new circulating lanes built.
Each local road that leads into Sladen Street will also have improvement works done.
The project, which was designed to increase traffic flow, is due for completion at some point during the 2016/17 financial year.
