Gun reported in street brawl

POLICE are investigating an ugly brawl in Cranbourne involving about 10 people, in which it’s believed one of the men had a gun.
Two men were walking north along the South Gippsland Highway around 9.45pm on Saturday 31 October when a car drove past them and the occupants allegedly shouted abuse at them.
When the car came back around towards the victims, seven to 10 men got out of it and started a fight with the two people on the street.
It’s alleged a gun was seen by one of the victims during the brawl.
One of the victim’s fathers was nearby and ran to help them.
Then one of the victims allegedly pulled out an axe handle and damaged the attackers’ car.
The incident is thought to be random, and a police spokesperson said the alleged gun was not believed to have been pointed at anyone.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
