OAK Tree Group’s new seniors lifestyle village in Skye is offering bushfire victims over the age of 55 free accommodation in up to 10 of the self-contained villas.
The villas would be available to residents for an initial period of six months if approved by the Victorian Government Bushfire Accommodation Donation Program, the group says.
If approved, seniors affected by the fire would have to apply to stay in the villas, but would have free access to the community facilities at the village, including lawn bowl greens, enjoyments centre with media room, computer with internet access, library, activities and onsite care takers and village manager.
Oak Tree director Marco De Pasquale said he hoped providing shelter to seniors would help relieve some of the burden caused by the bushfires.
Anyone wanting to help furnish the villas on offer for bushfire victims should contact MP Jude Perera at his office on 5996 2901.
