Musical meltdown

YOUNG music fans flocked to Spectrum Entertainment’s latest music gig Metal Meltdown in Hampton Park.
More than 350 people attended the Halloween event, which featured performances by local metal bands Gomorrah, Anarchsphere and the Bullet Never Lie.
The Halloween theme produced a host of great costumes amongst the crowd, including witches and ghouls and lots of fake blood, leather and studs.
The City of Casey’s manager of youth and community development, Janette Green, said Spectrum Entertainment did an exceptional job of managing the event.
“This key committee of young people was involved in every aspect of making Metal Meltdown a success, including publicising the event, stage managing, working the door, cloak room, canteen and backstage, as well as setting up and cleaning up after the event,” she said.
“This is the first time the City of Casey’s Spectrum Entertainment has presented a metal gig and the fans were certainly not disappointed. Each of the bands put on fantastic performances with impressive vocals.”
Spectrum Entertainment’s next gig ‘Consolidating the Stereotype Is Punk Dead?’ will be held on Friday, 25 November at Cranbourne Public Hall.
The gig begins at 6.30pm and entry costs $5 with a pass or $8 without.
