THE transformation of Cranbourne Primary School is nearing completion.
Principal Garry Rolfe said the major revamp of the classrooms and grounds was well underway, with more work to start before Christmas following news that the school was successful in its application for a $61,580 State Government grant.
Mr Rolfe said students were already reaping the benefits of four new portable classrooms thanks to a Classroom Replacement Project grant and he was delighted to receive funding for further improvement works.
“We are so excited to be successful in our application for round one funding from the Investing in Schools program,” he said.
“The funds will be used to purchase musical keyboards to support our music program, the recarpeting of four classrooms and new mobile teaching literacy units for each of the classrooms.”
Mr Rolfe said the new equipment would improve and enhance the delivery of teaching at the school, while landscaping works would beautify the school grounds.
“We are currently working on landscaping and developing areas of the school and the students will also be involved in this,” he said.
“The new portables are brilliant, replacing the old rooms that were at the end of their life span.
“We have a lot happening at the school at the moment. It is absolutely fantastic,” he said.
Mr Rolfe hoped that all improvement works would be completed by the end of the year.
“We will have a whole new school for the start of the new year.
“I would like to acknowledge Holt MP Anthony Byrne for his support in making this happen,” he said.
