THE Pearcedale CFA was among at least four fire crews that attended a grass and scrub fire in Langwarrin last week.
Two aerial water bombers were needed to contain the blaze, which started about 5.30pm last Wednesday at Pindara Boulevard.
CFA crews formed strike teams to battle the fire and protect homes along the creek reserve and council graders were used to forge an access track along the creek.
Lighting crews from the SES assisted firefighters who were still working during the dark.
Wildlife rescuers caught several possums injured as a result of the fire.
