Surprise for police after drug lab tip-off

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

A MAN has been bailed after police raided a Cranbourne West property and found chemicals used to make explosives.
Detectives were called to the Monahans Road property at 3pm on Monday 6 July after early reports a clandestine drug lab was in operation at the site.
Upon closer inspection the arson squad and an arson chemist were called to the property after explosive materials were discovered inside.
Police said there was no clandestine drug lab in operation at the property.
A 30-year-old was charged and bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court in October.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
