Top VCE results

Casey Grammar school leader Margaret Buttigieg said the dux of the Cranbourne school received an ENTER score of 92.5.
“We were happy with the results of our students. We had 34 students complete Year 12 and six of those got a score over 80,” she said.
Mrs Buttigieg said the average ENTER score was higher than last year, and the dux score was also an improvement on last year’s top mark. Lyndhurst Secondary College principal Steve Phillips said he was very happy with his school’s dux mark, which was in the low 90s.
“We were happy, but a little disappointed with some of the higher end results,” he said.
A Berwick school is celebrating after one of its students scored the highest VCE result in the history of the school.
Kambrya College student Mao Yuan Liu received a 99.65 ENTER score, gaining a perfect study score of 50 for chemistry and 48 for specialist mathematics.
Principal Michael Muscat said the school community was “over the moon” at Mao’s results.
“It’s a joyful moment as it’s the best mark any student has received at the school,” he said.
“It’s a stunning result and he will be presented with a Premier’s award for achieving the perfect score.”
The 18-year-old has already been snapped up by Monash University, scoring a scholarship to study chemical engineering.
