TWO quick-thinking boys used their mobile phone to help police after they became lost in bushland in Warneet on Sunday.
The Blind Bight boys, aged 11 and 12, set off on their bikes about 1pm to explore the Warneet Nature Reserve.
They became disoriented after about two hours and couldn’t find their way out of the scrub.
The 12-year-old used his mobile phone to call triple-zero just after 3pm and police searched the area but could not find the boys.
A Search and Rescue police member maintained phone contact and encouraged them to listen for police sirens or any other vehicles.
The pair eventually heard cars and police found them in bushland off Kallara Road.
They suffered minor cuts to their legs but did not require any medical treatment and were reunited with their families at the scene.
