’Batman’ goes bush

By CASEY NEILL

BATMAN is on the run and was last seen in Pakenham.
The Berwick Pomeranian ran off on 16 April while his owners were visiting friends near Glasscocks Road, Narre Warren South.
Michele Lecordier said her five-year-old pooch had since been spotted throughout Casey and Cardinia, most recently in the Lakeside estate.
“The support we are having has just been tremendous,” she said.
“People who’ve seen him say he looks very much older than his photo, and very tired.
“He likes new houses because I think he gets some food from the builders.
“He seems to be staying four days in each area.”
Batman and his sister Robin have been part of the family since they were 12 months old.
“The first day was awful to see. She didn’t want to get in the car with me and she had tears in her eyes,” Ms Lecordier said.
“My husband used to talk to Batman. He would listen with his eyes and put his paw on my husband’s heart or his arm.
“If one of us was sick he’d cuddle with us.”
Batman is not wearing a collar but is microchipped.
“He is very, very scared and when people call or whistle to him he runs away in the other direction,” Ms Lecordier said.
She urged anyone who spotted Batman to call her on 0458 458 624.
