Grassfires link probed

POLICE are investigating a series of grassfires in Cranbourne they believe are linked.
Three of the fires were all lit on Sunday 3 May at a reserve near The Arcade in Junction village, the first being reported at 8pm.
The second occurred nearby at 10.45pm, while the third was sighted in the same area around 11pm.
This month’s fires came after two other blazes were reported in February at the same location.
One was sighted around 8.30pm on Wednesday 25 February, and the other was lit hours later around 12.30am.
A Holden Commodore ute, with no plates, was seen in the area at the time and detectives have urged anyone with information to come forward.
