Civic leaders donned their sports gear on Monday and toured the developments at the centre.
City of Casey mayor Janet Halsall said the CALC would provide new and exciting opportunities for residents.
“The CALC will have a fully-equipped gymnasium as well as a group fitness area and a range of pools for different uses,” Cr Halsall said.
Other progress at the centre includes tiling of the 50-metre pool, roofing work for the crèche and foundations for the water slide tower.
The CALC is due to open mid next year and when completed will include a spa, sauna, hydrotherapy pool and steam room, child care facilities and a fully equipped gym.
