SENIORS at the University of the Third Age (U3A) Cranbourne celebrated the City of Casey’s Ageing Positively Festival with an open day last Friday.
More than 100 visitors were treated to a variety demonstrations and displays at the U3A centre, which is based in the Cranbourne Library complex.
Guests were also treated to scones with jam and cream and muffins prepared by the hospitality students at the William Angliss Institute in Cranbourne.
President of the U3A Cranbourne Bev Wood said the open day attracted a huge amount of visitors.
“We signed up two new members last week as a result of the open day,” Ms Wood said.
The U3A Cranbourne now has 128 members and runs classes in art, folk art, beginner and advanced computer skills, card making and calligraphy every day of the week.
“We’re always looking for more members. It’s a great place to meet new people and build beautiful friendships,” Ms Wood said.
The annual membership fee is $45 for the first year, with a $40 re-joining fee for following years.
