A TRAFFIC controller has stumbled across a loaded sawn-off shotgun in Cranbourne last week.
The road worker was directing traffic at the intersection of Station and Gordon Streets around 10.45am on Tuesday 24 March when she spotted something in the bushes along the nearby disused railway line.
Upon investigation the traffic controller discovered it was a sawn-off shotgun and called police.
Detectives confirmed the gun was loaded.
Police are urging anyone who finds a gun not to handle it, and to contact police immediately.
