A GROUP of selfless men and women braved for the shave this month and lost their locks in the name of cancer.
The News captured captured the excitement, shock and the tears as students, businessmen and women and councillors from across Casey Casey took part in the World’s Greatest Shave.
Jake Reid from Lyndhurst Secondary College was among those to lose the locks, however his locks were somewhat thicker than others.
The dreads were dead by the end of one school day this month when he got his mate Glen to shave his head.
Jake said he wanted to raise some money for a good cause.
“I thought maybe some other people could get some benefit from it,” he said.
Councillor Damien Rosario also jumped on board and had a Hampton Park barber behind the clippers.
Two sisters from a Cranbourne business, Maxine Shuster and Karen McDonald, also participated in honour of their mother, as well as others who have passed away from cancer.
