OLYMPIC horse rider Heath Ryan saddled up at a local riding school recently to teach a group of budding riders how it’s done.
Ryan, from New South Wales, is a patron of the Oakwood Riding School and consequently he was able to conduct lessons for some lucky young boys and girls in the area.
Two horse lovers won a lesson with Heath after they entered a raffle with the Berwick and District Dressage Club, which has a long-standing affiliation with Oakwood.
He also ran a two-day clinic which was well received by those who attend.
Oakwood’s Sharyn Wyatt said Heath was busy with about 10 lessons a day and will be back again on 19 and 20 May.
“Anyone interested in having lessons at Oakwood can, we (Oakwood) have school horses that can be hire,” she said.
“We take children from eight-years-of-age and up.”
