Freak accidental shooting

By BRIDGET SCOTT

THE man at the centre of an accidental shooting in Clyde last week remains in The Alfred hospital and was scheduled to undergo his third round of surgery on Tuesday.
WorkSafe is investigating the matter, and police have said they would not proceed with any criminal charges at this stage.
Police said they would assess the firearm to see if there were any safety problems.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday last week at a property on Moore Road, Clyde, after a gun accidentally discharged, police said.
The man, who is said to be a licensed firearms holder in his forties, was shot in the hip while placing the gun in his car.
The bullet is believed to have gone through the gun container (box)and through the back of the ute before it hit the man and shattered his hip.
Part of the bullet still remains lodged in him.
