CONSTRUCTION of the $37 million Cranbourne Aquatic and Leisure Centre (CALC) is on schedule and Casey Council expects the facility to open in June next year.
The state-of-the-art complex will feature a 50-metre pool and a water park with slides and a whirlpool.
The CALC is now 50 per cent complete with concrete pouring of the pools, walls and roof recently finished.
Works on the creche, administration area and top floor gym is complete and wall tiling of the pool is underway.
Council reports that installation of the CALC’s mechanical systems and electrical components is well underway, and that the car park is nearing completion.
When open, the CALC will feature not only a competition size pool, but an interactive splash park, spa, sauna, hydrotherapy pool and steam room.
A café and fully-equipped gym will also add to its appeal.
