EAGLES of all abilities took to Casey Fields with gusto on Sunday as part of Cricket Victoria’s All Abilities Carnival.
Bringing together sides from across Victoria – over 20 in this year’s carnival – the program ran all Sunday as fours, sixes and wickets dotted the scoresheets.
With help from the City of Casey, The Lord’s Taverners Victoria, Casey-South Melbourne Cricket Club and Cranbourne Cricket Club, the All Abilities Carnival – approaching its10-year anniversary -brought together athletes with an intellectual disability to play their beloved game with gusto.
Cranbourne’s All Abilities Cricket team battled it out across the afternoon to the delight of players and fans alike.
A squad of 22 was selected following the carnival to represent the Victorian Vikings in the national all-abilities competition.
Endeavour Hills Cricket Club bowler Lachlan Macrae was part of the action on Sunday at Casey Fields as he prepares for the INAS International Cricket Series against South Africa and England.
