Swimmers show their colours

By BRIDGET SCOTT

TOORADIN students made a big splash yesterday as they made waves at the Kooweerup pool during the school’s annual swimming meet.
With looks of determination on their faces, Tooradin Primary School students competed well in a variety of swimming events yesterday (11 February).
The sun shone brightly on the future swimming stars who took park in freestyle, breast stroke, back stroke and butterfly events.
While most people had a dip, teacher Rachel Davis said some were lucky enough to earn a place that would allow them to progress into the next level at the district swimming sports next week.
“As students compete in each level, they experience the challenge of swimming against students from across the district, getting to feel the pride of representing their school and achieving their own personal goals,” she said.
“Staff and students all returned to school with excited stories about their adventures in the pool and wearing their array of winning ribbons.”
