POLICE believe a fire in Lawson Pool Reserve, Cranbourne, on Tuesday 27 January was deliberately lit.
Emergency services were called to the reserve on the corner of the South Gippsland Highway and Thompsons Road about 5am.
The grass and scrub fire burnt out an area of 10 metres by five metres and CFA crews extinguished the fire.
Police have warned that serious charges would be brought against anyone who deliberately lights a fire in the open during the summer.
