Too close for comfort

CRANBOURNE RSL BOWLS CLUB
DIVISION 2
IT was crunch time for the RSL in Saturday’s pennant play – a game that had to be won – at home against a team we had previously beaten earlier in the year. The scores were close all day and everyone was feeling the pressure. Going into the last end for all four teams, we were only three shots down. The last ends proved our undoing as Pakenham finished the stronger picking up 13 shots to win by 16. Walter Brannan’s side the only winners on the day.
Pakenham 92 d Cranbourne RSL 76.
B Graham, G Dore, M Cassano, W Brannan 27-14. P Males, J Black, Y van der Wees, R Chapman 18-23. R Bligh, R Crawford, J Spencer, M Watkinson 18-30. F Scicluna, J Carretero, W Ballard, K Hocking 13-25.
DIVISION 5
Talk about carrying a team on your own back, that is what happen today, with Steve Hickson’s side the only winning rink. Our other three sides struggled on the day but their losing margins was less that Steve’s winning one, so we got the overall win. It’s is not often you lose three rinks and still win the game.
Cranbourne RSL 73 d Burwood District 67.
M. Ryan, K. Hickson, B. Walsh, S. Hickson 30-9. A. Reynolds, K. Walker, K. Mcleod, J. Vowles 16-19. D. Angee, B. Mason, M. Bobetic, B. Eagle 17-20. I. Maat, K. Currie, D. Meulman, M. Hodges 10-19.
