AS the State Election rolled around again last year, it came as a surprise to very few when it was entangled in controversy.
The campaign didn’t start out quite as expected for two candidates who were investigated by the Ombudsman for receiving donations.
Liberal candidate for Narre Warren North Amanda Stapledon and Liberal Candidate for Cranbourne Geoff Ablett remained silent after it was revealed that they were being investigated. The pair have still remained tight-lipped since Labor was announced the winner on 29 November.
Jude Perera retained his seat for Cranbourne and came out on top, while Luke Donnellan and Judith Graley also prevailed comfortably.
The controversy didn’t stop in the aftermath of the election when candidate Amanda Stapledon alleged she was bullied by Labor-aligned backers at a pre-polling station. MP Luke Donnellan denied the claims.
