The removal works, to be funded by the Department of Sustainability, will ensure a new air conditioner can be installed to cool the hall before the heat of summer sets in.
Casey Council agreed to fund the purchase and installation of the new air conditioner in May, but have been awaiting the removal of the asbestos by the DSE.
The Cranbourne Public Hall is located on Crown Land and is managed by a Department of Sustainability and Environment appointed Committee of Management.
