Kids chew over health

CORAL Park Primary School ate its way through Education Week recently.
The school celebrated and promoted healthy eating and living.
In late May, more than 400 people attended the open evening of the school’s new program Healthy Body, Healthy Mind.
Students, parents and teachers prepared and tasted healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack ideas.
Families also had the opportunity to participate in a range of fitness activities.
“The night was a huge success,” said Middle School team leader and open evening organiser Ruth Biddle.
“It was fantastic to see families trying new foods and discussing healthy food options.
“The school is working towards accreditation in the Victorian Government’s Go For Your Life Program and this is another way in which we are educating our school community on healthy eating.”
Students also completed a range of writing activities on fruits and vegetables during the week.
