Crunch time at PCNSA

By DAVID NAGEL

THE PCN Sports Alliance board will meet on Friday to finally vote on the future of the nine Casey Cardinia league clubs currently under its auspice.
The CCFL clubs began a process on October 2, requesting a withdrawal of membership from PCNSA, citing poor communication and a lack of service among their list of grievances.
PCNSA originally had 21 days, to October 23, to vote on whether to grant the clubs exemption from Rule 14.1, which states 12 months’ notice, must be given of a clubs intention to resign from the league.
However, AFL Victoria Country intervention has seen the process drag on, the clubs coerced by AFL Vic Country into listening to a proposal from PCNSA and its plans for the future.
The clubs have rejected that proposal, meaning the PCNSA board will vote on Friday on whether to grant the exemption. A yes vote will see the CCFL clubs free to govern their own competition in 2015, while a no vote will force the CCFL clubs into an appeals process through AFL Victoria.
