WITH students from more than 30 different cultural background, Cranbourne West Primary School has a soft spot for Harmony Day.
Held on Wednesday as part of Education Week, Harmony Day celebrated Australia’s success as a diverse nation.
Indigenous Australia was the focus of this year’s celebrations and Cranbourne West students enjoyed Aboriginal art and craft activities and enjoyed a display by indigenous performers.
Prep teachers Lynne and Di said Harmony Day provided students an opportunity to work and play together and celebrate cultural diversity.
Damien, a grade five student, said he had a great time.
“It was really cool that I got to dance in front of half the school and show everyone about my culture,” he said.
