Bushland reserved for a burn-off

THE bushland at Cranbourne South’s Morning Mist Reserve has been scheduled for an ecological burn.
As part of the City of Casey’s ongoing commitment to the sustainable management of the municipality’s natural resources, the burn will take place between Friday 18 April and Friday 30 May.
City of Casey manager for engineering and environment David Richardson said the Country Fire Authority would be joining forces with Casey staff to safely and effectively deliver the burn.
He said the ecological burn of Morning Mist Reserve had been approved after extensive planning.
“The prescribed burn will rejuvenate the native vegetation and stimulate the germination of many native species within the bushland sanctuary,” he said.
