Elvis swings by for fund-raiser

A MAJOR fund-raising event for one of the region’s biggest charitable organisations is fast approaching.
The Casey-Cardinia Foundation will host its annual charity dinner on Friday 3 October with well-known entertainer Mark Andrew sure to be a hit.
The question is, though, who will Andrew appear as this time?
Will he bring the house down as Elvis or come as the always groovy Austin Powers? Or maybe Dean Martin or Tom Jones will jon in the fun.
The annual dinner and auction raises vital funds which enable the foundation to assist with social, community and general welfare needs in Casey and Cardinia.
A memorable night of entertainment is guaranteed with food, wine and great company.
MC Sandy Roberts is also sure to be a hit with the auction led by Andrew Facey that will feature a number of exciting items including holidays, dinner parties and experience.
There will also be a wide selection of silent auction items, raffles and prizes.
The foundation was first established in 2003 to fill a hole in the community which demanded a need for a philanthropic structure in the region.
Last year, chairman Brian Paynter announced that the group broadened its region to include the City of Casey.
Funds are dispersed in the way of grants which help provide support to charitable organisations that support various community groups.
A total of $333,0000 has been allocated to local groups over the past 10 years, which has resulted in long lasting community outcomes.
Tickets are limited and can be purchased online at www.trybooking.com/97470 or by contacting Therese Howell on 0439 905 533 for $135 each or $1350 for a table of 10.
The event will kick off at 6.30pm at the Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham.
