A MAN drove against traffic on the wrong side of the road during a police pursuit in Cranbourne.
Police said that after pursuing the man’s car through High Street, he drove against the traffic along Camms Road and ended up at a dead end in Virginia Street.
They said the man then fled on foot.
Police said the pursuit started about 12.10am on 15 March after the man drove off after handing over an expired driver’s licence.
Stolen items and a small amount of drugs were found in the car, police said.
Another police unit later arrested a man.
Police have charged a 41-year-old Pakenham man with a number of offences, including driving in a dangerous manner, unlicensed driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle with false registration plates, possession of drugs and possession of stolen goods.
