Team gets a move-on

By BRIDGET COOK

ST AGATHA’S Primary School aerobics team members proved that they are among the best in the country last month.
The school’s two senior aerobics teams earned the opportunity to compete at the national championships in the Gold Coast on Saturday 9 August.
Both teams finished in the top 10 in Australia in their respective categories.
Coach Rose Butera said they were all thrilled to even make it to nationals, let alone having success there.
“Lots of training went into preparing for this competition,” she said.
“We are so proud of all their hard work and dedication and this is continually seen from the way they conduct themselves throughout the entire process.
“It was an excellent weekend and a very tough competition.
“This is a wonderful achievement for both senior teams and, as their coach, I am extremely proud of all their hard work and dedication.
“A very big thank you to everyone who has supported our club this year.”
Ms Butera said it was only the third year that the school had been running an aerobics team and that the school now had five teams and two soloists who competed around the state.
All teams made the state championships in June where the two senior groups came second and third which qualified them for nationals.
