Cream of the crop

CRANBOURNE resident Julian Morelli was only too happy to mow his ‘fro – for a good cause.
Julian was one of more than 100,000 Australians who shaved, waxed, coloured or cropped their hair in support of the Leukaemia Foundation’s annual fundraising event, World’s Greatest Shave, held last week.
After watching his mother lose her hair during a battle with breast cancer, Julian was only too happy to go under the razor.
“It’s a tough thing to happen to someone and World’s Greatest Shave is a great way to show support for the thousands of people that lose their hair every year while undergoing life-saving treatment,” he said. Julian had the full support of his employer BT Global and spent the weeks leading up to the event fundraising and finding other colleagues to join him on shave day.
“All the staff got involved and couldn’t wait for the big day to arrive – it was a great platform to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation and at the same time raise awareness,” he said.
“I was a bit nervous about how I would look, but that’s all part of the fun.” Centro Cranbourne hosted its own shave day last Saturday and adults, children and even pet dogs participated in the mass shearing.
