A MAN was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital on Saturday after he fell out of a boat and was hit by its spinning propeller in Warneet.
Police said at about 10am on Saturday morning, two men were in a tinnie off Warneet when one of them leant over to grab something out of the water, causing the boat to tip them out.
Both men were wearing life jackets but the engine’s safety kill switch was not in use.
The boat ran over one of the men, causing his clothes to get caught in the propeller.
The 55-year-old Cranbourne man sustained chest and abdomen injuries and was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
