A DEVON MEADOWS girl is one of 60 promising business students from across Victoria selected to take part in the 2008 Australian Business Week at Deakin University, Geelong.
Hillcrest Christian College Year 12 student Laura Stanley, 17, was the top student for business management last year at the school.
She was the second student in the history of the school to have achieved a grade of A in the final examination, teacher Rob Wilson said.
Laura will meet political and business leaders during Business Week.
She was extremely happy and honoured to be selected, she told the Cranbourne News.
“This is such a great opportunity as ever since my early high school years I have wanted to study business and law.”
“My family, friends and school teachers have all been very supportive. Everyone keeps passing on their congratulations to me.”
Laura’s family is involved in running a small business so she has acquired some understanding of business from home.
The award is worth more than $2000. The six-day event starts on 24 March.
