The Devils were prouder

Victorian Women’s Football League

UNABLE to get out of first gear quickly, Cranbourne conceded a nine-point VWFL Division 1 loss to Eastern Devils.
The Devils kicked three early goals to establish a handy buffer that the Eagles couldn’t hunt down.
Former Keysborough player and VWFL South East best-and-fairest Jaimee Lambert starred for Eastern.
Kirsten Mcleod retains her lead in Division 1’s goal kicking competition as she drilled three goals to take her tally to 16 majors from six games.
Belinda Wilder, Alicia Heins and Lauren Robinson also featured in the Eagles’ best.
Making her step up to the VWFL, Beaconsfield Youth Girls’ ruck/forward Lauren Hojnacki kicked a goal on debut.
It has been a season of debutants for the Eagles with 36 players pulling on the Division 1 side’s jumper from only seven games in 2014 as Shaun Smith and Keith Edwards figure out the best combinations for the firsts and seconds teams.
Cranbourne falls to fifth in the VWFL’s Division 1 competition and head out to Kings Park Reserve on Saturday afternoon to face VU St Albans.
In other results, Cranbourne’s reserves smashed Bayswater by 48 points as Houda Sidani, Belinda Czosnek and Cat Robinson bagged two goals apiece. Hallam surged in the fourth term to seize an 18-point win over Chirnside Park. Their champion achievers were Rebecca Sadler, Alice Mctaggart and Carlee Mclaren with multiple goal efforts coming via Natalie Horua and Sarah Punton.
