Pearcedale emerging from a makeover

THE final stages of Pearcedale Primary School’s extreme makeover has the local community waiting with bated breath.
Assistant principal Jeff Mead said there was an air of excitement around the school as works on the school’s new $1.96 million general purpose building drew closer to completion.
“Works finished on our new basketball court today and the construction of the general purposes building is expected to finish at the end of this term,” he said.
The governmentfunded revamp includes the construction of three reading recovery rooms, a deaf facility office and eight classrooms, Mr Mead said.
“The staff and administration area will also undergo significant upgrades and the library will be extended,” he said.
“The whole thing is just now starting to take shape.
“You can just begin to see how it will eventually look and get a real feel for it. It is very exciting.”
Mr Mead said the improved facilities would not only benefit the students but the entire Pearcedale community.
“The whole community is really excited,” he said.
“These works will not only improve the way we can operate but improve the appearance of the school.
“The school will take on a new look as well as providing better outcomes for the students.
“Pearcedale Primary really does belong to the community here and they can really be proud.”
