Man airlifted after single-vehicle crash

By Sarah Schwager
A CRANBOURNE man was airlifted to hospital in one of a series of serious accidents in Victoria over the weekend.
The 26-year-old man was taken to The Alfred with serious injuries after the car he was driving crashed in Cranbourne West.
His passengers were also taken to hospital after one was trapped.
An 18-year-old Narre Warren man was in a serious condition.
The extent of the injuries of the other passenger, a man in his mid-20s, is unknown.
Cranbourne Senior Sergeant Daleen Spicer said yet again police were confronted with another tragedy in the Cranbourne Response Zone.
“And again it is driver error and involves young people,” Sen Sgt Spicer said.
“I want to take this opportunity to stress the importance of driving safely.
“People need to consider the consequences of all the families involved.”
Sen Sgt Spicer said road traumas distressed emergency workers as well as the families.
She said serious injuries could be just as devastating as fatalities to loved ones.
The crash, which occurred on Raisell Court, is being investigated as to whether alcohol was involved.
It joined a string of serious collisions in the state in a horror weekend in which 11 people died.
