CASEY community groups and organisations can give themselves the best chance of securing a grant of up to $3000 at a number of information sessions this month.
Applications are now open for the City of Casey’s 2014/15 Community Grants Program which offers financial assistance of up to $3000 to not-for-profit community groups and organisations that benefit the Casey community.
This month the council is offering free information sessions, training and workshops aimed at providing groups with the skills and information needed to correctly complete applications that have the best chance of being successful.
Last year’s program provided $164,700 to more than 70 community groups across the municipality.
City of Casey Mayor Geoff Ablett said he hoped to see many new groups and organisations applying this year.
“I encourage all eligible groups and organisations to seize this great opportunity and think about how they might use additional funding to improve how they operate or support our community,” he said.
“Council is committed to supporting Casey’s community groups and organisations that work hard to enrich the lives of residents and strengthen community spirit.”
Online application form training will be held on Monday 16 June from 2pm to 3pm 30-32 Verdun Drive, Narre Warren.
There will also be a basic grant writing workshop on Tuesday 3 June from 10am to noon at Balla Balla Community Centre and an advanced workshop, for those who have previously completed the basic on Tuesday 17 June at the same time and location.

Applications for the grants close at 5pm on Friday 4 July.
