CASEY has scooped nine awards in the annual YMCA Victoria Awards.
The Casey Aquatic and Recreation Centre (ARC) featured, taking out the coveted YMCA of the Year accolade.
The group showed why they were worthy winners of several awards only days later after lifeguards resuscitated a young girl who was dragged from the pool.
The Cranbourne YMCA also featured, with Casey’s Big Brother Big Sister program, in which it is heavily involved, winning the Excellence and achievement in programs award, with the majority of the kids involved in the program coming from Cranbourne.
Yesterday the YMCA was congratulated at a morning tea at Casey ARC with mayor Colin Butler. Other awards included Casey ARC manager Amanda Ashton being named manager of the year and Casey ARC received the key award for demonstrating the highest level of professionalism and leadership.
The Casey ARC staff rescue team won YMCA heroes while Endeavour Hills Leisure Centre group fitness instructor Nicki Brown won the Excellence and achievement in health and wellness.
