WASTECH Engineering has continued its winning streak being named the best of the best businesses across the region.
The Hallam-based business took out the top gong in the Melbourne South East (MSE) Business Awards on Friday 9 May which were held at the Karralyka Centre in Ringwood East.
The win comes after the business was crowned the Casey Business of the Year and Casey Manufacturer of the Year in 2013, which qualified Wastech for the MSE awards.
The MSE awards program is the premier business recognition program in the south-east region of Melbourne.
Nominations came from 10 municipalities which had won awards in their respective local government award programs.
Wastech Engineering was the only Casey business to win a MSE award when it won the major Business of the Year Overall Business Excellence award as well as the Medium Enterprise category.
Cardinia’s D’Angelo Estate Vineyard won the Small Business Award and Environmental and Sustainability Award.
Wastech Engineering managing director Neil Bone said that winning two categories was a huge accomplishment and one that the company was proud of.
“Manufacturing is a high pressure industry and it is terrific to have our growth and success in this industry recognised,” he said.
“We were still on a high from the Casey awards and have been leveraging off this in all our marketing so to win the MSE awards was a huge surprise and something we are all proud of.
“We like to think the judges have recognised the effort we have put into our team approach within the business and the support and opportunity for growth that we offer all our employees.
“We have a solid business vision and values system that has been communicated to all our team and is on display in our foyer for all our partners to see and be involved in.”
