Opposition catch-up

Reading the Herald Sun Sunday on 4 May state opposition leader Daniel Andrews has stated councils will have to justify any rate increase above CPI.
He also states he will force councils to limit rate rises and detail where every dollar would be spent “because ratepayers deserve a fair go”.
Wow, Mr Andrews, this is not new.
If you had been reading our local papers over the years, you would have noticed we have been asking for transparencey from Casey council on spending for a very long time, and we don’t seem to get anywhere with our questions.
Mr Andrews, one question as to why you would bring this up now. Could this be an election year?
Rex Flannery,
Narre Warren South.
