CRANBOURNE Secondary College students tested their endurance at the school’s annual cross country carnival last week.
Students descended on Casey Fields on Tuesday 6 May for the event, where they competed against each other in long distance running.
Cranbourne Secondary College Health and Physical Education co-ordinator Melinda Corney said they held the cross country event in the form of an Adidas School Fun-Run.
“We feel running it as a fun run gives more students incentives to join in, raise money and get prizes,” she said.
“The students enjoyed the day, the sun was out and they got a free barbecue.”
The winner of the 12 to 13-year-old girls’ race was Saiemah Ali, while Nivin Sathyajth took out the boys’ category.
The 14-year-old races were won by Jade Lyons and Jawid Rahimi and the 15-year-old categories by Bahara Mizae and Ali Rahimi.
Hasib Rahimi won the 16-year-old boys’ race, while Tom May took out the 17-year-old category.
The top 10 placegetters in each age group will now go on to compete against other schools in the district.
