Man slashed in house raid

A CRANBOURNE man was attacked when he answered his door early on Sunday morning.
Police said two men knocked on the door of the Lamont Crescent house about 6.30am.
The victim, a 24-year-old Asian man, was asleep in bed when he got up to answer the door.
The men then forced their way in, ripping the fly screen door off.
The victim was then involved in a fight with the two men and received a nasty gash to his left hand from some sort of sword or knife.
A 19-year-old Carlton woman who was staying in the house ran out and pushed one of the offenders off the victim.
The men then got into their car, an early-90s model, medium-sized red sedan, and drove off.
The victim was taken to the Dandenong Hospital by ambulance and underwent surgery to his hand on Sunday night.
He was reported to be in a stable condition.
The two men have both been described as in their early 20s, of Asian appearance, medium build, black hair, wearing light-coloured, long-sleeved shirts and jeans.
One man was about 175cm and the other about 170cm.
Police believe the men may have been known to the woman houseguest.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Larry Grimshaw at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
